Growing up in Astoria, Queens, Sabrina and Maria have been best friends since the first grade. When Sabrina was 10, her family decided to move to Long Island. As a going away gift, Maria bought Sabrina a Culture Club album (Sabrina LOVED Boy George) with a letter attached to promise to always write and stay friends – no matter what! To this day, Sabrina still has both the album and the letter. They kept their promise to keep in touch and always stay friends and later traveled across the country by car visiting places like Memphis, New Orleans and California racking up tons of miles and incredible memories along the way. Upon graduating from New York University, Maria began studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts where she would pursue her dream to become an actress.
She then moved to Los Angeles where she started a fashion blog and continued her acting career. But like the old saying goes, there is no place like home. Back in New York, Sabrina graduated with a degree in accounting from Adelphi University and began her career in the corporate world. She realized that it wasn’t quite her calling and went on to earn her master’s degree in elementary education and spent 13 years as an elementary school teacher. Working with children will always hold a special place in her heart as it was a very fulfilling career. Sabrina and Maria went down many roads together and several on their own but their friendship served as their GPS that led them to Kamari Kids. Because of their love for their own children, fashion and music the two decided to start an online children’s clothing boutique for the music lover, the dreamer and the kid who wants to stand out from the pack. Kamari Kids aims to find clothing that is rock & roll inspired, eclectic and on the cutting edge of fashion. Their products are geared to meet the needs of the modern family while styling your kids one rockstar at a time!
