Best Friends Forever - Halloween Style

What would you think if I sang out of tune
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm gonna try with a little help from my friends
So every time I walk down into my basement I find this picture staring at me of my twin girls and one of their very best friends, Dani. This picture is about 5 years old now but I think it's my favorite Halloween picture ever. They were in second grade when this photo was taken and no matter how old they get, these three will never go trick or treating without each other. Every year we make the rounds in my neighborhood with the entire block and then we move on to her's and add to the festivities. This was actually the first year the tradition started and we intend to keep it going for as long as we can.
We all know how rare it is to have a friend that you are still close with from elementary school. It's kind of special to me because I do still have that friendship with mine from first grade and she happens to be my partner in crime at Kamari Kids. It's one of the reasons I treasure this friendship my girls have with Dani.
As third grade came along, they decided to be creative and make their Halloween costumes. Dani's mom took them to Michael's and they got all of their craft supplies and accessories and here they are as Glam Babies! We weren't really sure what that was at the time but they were very excited about it and had the best time making these costumes.
(D - Dani, I - Isabella, M - Mia)
Fourth grade brought some more friends into the mix and more neighborhoods still but the trio remains constant. This is the year Isabella decided to be a snow girl and wanted no part of anyone's costume. She was determined to be unique and find a costume that she knew no one else would have. She is my Fruit Loop in a world of Cheerios.
Here they are with their fifth grade teacher and their last year of elementary school. They decided to be Smurfs and googled ideas. They found all of the pieces of their costume on Amazon, bookmarked it all and just told us to place the order. This was I guess the first year they took charge of their own costumes and really didn't need our help anymore with ideas.
Now in middle school there have been many changes. Their school is about five times the size of their elementary school. They are broken up into different parts of the school for classes and don't really get to see each other as much as they would like. Not to mention all of the after school activities along with their homework that keep them occupied 24/7.
With these changes have also come new friendships for all of them. Middle school is a tough challenge trying to fit into different groups while still trying to maintain those special friendships you have grown to treasure. These three are so mature in the decisions they make and how they treat each other that I have no doubt they will always be close. They know that what they have, an easy friendship, is something that is hard to come by in middle school and they truly make every effort to always keep that closeness no matter what life throws their way. Can't wait to see what this year's Halloween idea will be. Love these girls!
