STYLING YOUR KIDS, ONE ROCKST★R AT A TIME

ARIANA GRANDE - DANGEROUS WOMAN TOUR

Posted on 27 February 2017

Waiting for Ariana Grande to take the stage ...

Yes we were there at the concert last Thursday night at Madison Square Garden. One of my daughters, Mia, has been absolutely obsessed with Ariana Grande for the past two years.  My girls have never been to an actual concert so we took them and a friend for the first time over the February break. I have to say it was a great first show!

Best Friends Forever

Recent concerts that my husband and I have been to include Vampire Weekend, Mumford and Sons, Arcade Fire, Ride, etc...  This was a whole new experience but one we didn't want to miss with our girls.  They had a blast and knew all the words to practically every song.  I have to admit, we even knew a bunch.

So Stylish ...

As a mom, I always worry about influences various artists have on my kids and what is appropriate for them to be watching and not.  You can't help it.  They are so inundated with information nowadays, instantly, that it's very hard to monitor but I was very impressed with the production of the show as well as the performance.  Ariana Grande was absolutely stunning and I loved every one of her outfits that she came out on stage with. No surprise that her clothing is what I have to comment on.

She had these jewels in her hair starting at the hairline and going back into her long ponytail - yes #hairgoals.  Every one of her outfits were so stylish and appropriate for her audience - a true role model for young girls today.  They all had a little bit of edge to them with a girly and feminine undertone.

This is the Part When I Break Free

My favorite song of the night was Break Free.  I have always liked that song and I felt like I needed to get up and start singing when I heard it.  I feel like it's been a motto of mine in recent years and sends a good message.

If you want it, take it
I should've said it before
Tried to hide it, fake it
I can't pretend anymore

I only wanna die alive
Never by the hands of a broken heart
Don't wanna hear you lie tonight
Now that I've become who I really am

This is the part when I say I don't want ya
I'm stronger than I've been before
This is the part when I break free
'Cause I can't resist it no more

At the end of the night, we had three very happy teenagers coming home from their first concert.  We even made it in time for some Auntie Anne's in Penn Station before we got on the train back home - perfect ending to the night.

UROCK!
